Why is changing your filters so important?
The filters in your water filter system remove harmful substances such as:
- Chemical substances
- PFAS/GenX
- Heavy metals
- Chlorine
- Pesticides
- Hormone and drug residues
- microplastics
In addition, the ceramic filter (with a filter fineness of 0.2 microns) keeps bacteria from entering your drinking water. It also stops hard undissolved lime (calcium/magnesium). However, the dissolved minerals calcium/magnesium do pass through the filters. So there will always be calcium in the filtered water.
What happens if you don't change your filter on time?
A filter that has been in use too long can start to release pollution instead of adsorbing it. In Germany, it is even required by law to replace filters with carbon every six months because of possible bacterial growth. Fortunately, our filter contains a small amount of silver that prevents bacterial growth, allowing you to use the filter for up to a year.
