Year set of filters Aqualine 5 - alkaline

This set includes the latest generation multi-step filter for the Aqualine 5 (as shown on this page) and a ceramic pre-filter. This new filter removes up to 99.9% of pollutants from the water.

This filter makes the filtered water alkaline. If you prefer to drink pH neutral water choose the pH neutral version.

The composition of this multi-step filter was developed specifically for Aqualine products. We at Tradeline visit our suppliers in South Korea on average every other year and discuss whether the composition is still adequate or whether better filter materials have come onto the market.

1st stage - the ceramic filter

This filter is located in the filling tank and has a fineness of 0.2 microns (0.0002 mm). With this pre-filter you already remove much of the contamination from the water including bacteria, undissolved calcium and magnesium particles. The water passes slowly through the filter and then drips into the multi-step filter

2nd stage - the multi-step filter

1st coat
High quality, silver impregnated, 30X60 type activated carbon with high uptake.

2nd layer
Zeolite pellets. Environmentally friendly pellets with high adsorption value, filters chlorine compounds such as trihalomethane from the water and various heavy metals, softens the water.

3rd layer
Silica and combo beads. The balls are a combination of various substances including Tourmaline, Zeolite and Kaolin. They have a redox function and anti-bacteriological effect.

4th layer
Illite combo balls. Emit a far infrared frequency of 9.23 micrometers. This frequency vibrates in the same frequency as the human body. This activates cells, stimulates and increases micro blood circulation. They soften the water to a pH of about 7.5. Furthermore, they also have an anti-bacteriological effect.

3rd stage - making alkaline/basic with the pH ring

When you order, this is a choice. If you choose the alkaline version, the system comes with a pH ring. This ring is filled with magnetite beads, tourmaline beads, alkaline beads and magnesium beads. The ring increases the pH of the filtered water by an average of 1 - 1.5 pH point to slightly alkaline water. Thus, how high the pH of the water becomes depends on your tap water. Furthermore, the pH ring lowers the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) value giving the water an anti oxidant effect. (The water does not add anti oxidants).

Replace the filter after 2,000 liters if you filter more than 6 liters per day. If you filter less than 6 liters of water per day, the manufacturer recommends changing the filter after 1 year. In Germany it is required by law to change filters containing carbon every six months.

Part of the filter consists of activated carbon. This is a natural product. If the carbon is completely saturated with the pollutant then it no longer absorbs anything and will release the pollutant after a period of time. This moment cannot be determined exactly. Therefore the advice is to replace the filter at least after 1 year.

Worried about bacteria forming in the filtered water? No need to be! Because part of the mineral stones are impregnated with silver, bacterial activity in the water is prevented. The filtered water in your water filtration system will therefore remain good for weeks.

This set fits the Aqualine 5, the KS 911, the Aquavit 5, the AQV 5, the Biovit 100, the Aqualive 5 and all Keosan and Cosan 5 liter systems. In addition, this filter fits into several Nikken piMag systems.

The water is definitely getting softer. My tap water used to taste bad, but that’s gone now that I’m using the filter. You do have to replace it every year, though, and that’s pretty pricey.

Which Aqualine water filter is right for you?

All Aqualine water filtration systems work the same way.

  • Comprehensive filtration using various filters and different
    filter media.
  • Adding minerals and trace elements using Elvan mineral stones.
  • Vitalization of water during tapping (according to the Victor Schauberger principle)
  • If desired, the pH of the water can be raised to make it slightly alkaline.

All Aqualine water filters filter approximately 1.5 liters per hour. Because the water is filtered slowly
, the filter media can remove more contaminants from the water.

The flow rate of 1.5 liters per hour is an important factor to consider when making your choice. If you buy a water filter with a small tank capacity, you’ll have to refill it more often
compared to a larger water filter.

Another important factor to consider when making your choice is the size of the Aqualine water filter. Will the system fit in the spot you have in mind (for example, under a cabinet)? With the Aqualine 5, 12, and 18 models, the white base can be removed. This allows the tank that collects the water to be placed on a shelf or raised platform, for example.

The capacity of the collection tank (where the filtered water is collected) is based on an empty tank. This tank contains a multi-stage filter, mineral stones, and possibly a pH ring. Therefore, subtract 1.5 liters from the tank capacity to determine
how much water you can draw from the system at one time.

Which Aqualine is right for you?

Aqualine 5

  • Suitable for 1–2 people
  • The capacity of the empty tank is 5 liters
  • Perfect for drinking water and making coffee or tea

Aqualine 12

  • Suitable for 2–3 people
  • The empty tank has a capacity of 8 liters
  • Also suitable for 1–2 people who, in addition to drinking water, coffee, and tea, also want to use the water for cooking or simply want to have a bit more water on hand.

Aqualine 18

  • Suitable for 4 or more people
  • The capacity of the empty tank is 11.7 liters
  • Ideal for large households, a medical practice, or a small office

Aqualine Neos

  • Suitable for 4 or more people
  • The capacity of the empty tank is 9.8 liters
  • Ideal for large households, a medical practice, or a small office
  • Unique square design

Choosing the material

The Aqualine 5, 12, and Neos are available with either an ABS (plastic) or glass
sump tank. The Aqualine 18 is available only with a glass tank.

ABS and polypropylene are the two plastics known to be food-safe. They do not impart any taste. They also do not release BPA, BPS, BPF, BPFAF, BPAP, or any toxic substances.

The glass tanks are handcrafted in South Korea. This results in a price difference between the ABS and glass versions.

The material used does not affect the quality of the filtered water.

Choose between pH-neutral or alkaline (Redox)

By default, the water is adjusted to a pH of 7.2–7.4 after the filtration process.

Optionally, the water can be made slightly alkaline using the pH ring (for the Aqualine 5, 12, 18) or the Redox filter (for the Neos). This raises the pH level by 1–1.5 pH units. The water does not become alkaline immediately after filtering. The contents of the pH ring and the substances from the Redox filter need time to dissolve in the water. This process takes several hours.

People who lead a healthy lifestyle and do not take acid-forming medications
generally do not need alkaline water.

Alkaline water is not recommended for children under 4 years of age.
