How does an under-the-tap water filter work?

The filter is placed between the cold water pipe and the faucet supply hose. This is easily done by cutting the pipe and installing the filter between the IN and OUT connections. If necessary, a hose clamp can be used to secure it securely.

With an under-the-tap water filter, you always have access to pure drinking water without taking up extra space. Want to buy a different water filter? At Tradeline, we have what you're looking for.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

An under-tap water filter is a compact and efficient solution to purify tap water without a separate filter system on the countertop. The filter is installed directly between the cold water pipe and the supply hose, filtering the water before it flows out of the faucet.

An under-faucet water filter is connected between the cold water pipe and the faucet's supply hose. You do this by cutting the pipe and placing the filter between the IN and OUT connections. Sometimes a hose clamp is needed for a secure attachment. Installation is simple and can usually be done without the help of an installer.

An under-the-tap water filter provides instant filtered water without a large system on the kitchen counter. It can remove chlorine, bacteria and drug residues for better-tasting, purer water. Maintenance is easy, with filters only needing to be replaced a few times a year. Some models can also be connected to a Quooker for hot filtered water.

A standard water filter under the tap reduces limescale, but does not remove it completely. Some filters help improve the mineral balance in the water, making limescale less likely to occur. Complete scale removal requires a water softener.

Yes, most under-tap water filters are compatible with standard cold water faucets. In some cases, an additional coupling or adapter may be required, depending on the type of faucet and water line.

Yes, some filters, such as the Aqualine Logic, can be connected to a Quooker. This ensures that the filtered water is stored directly in the water tank, so you benefit from pure filtration even with hot water.

Which Aqualine water filter is right for you?

All Aqualine water filtration systems work the same way.

  • Comprehensive filtration using various filters and different
    filter media.
  • Adding minerals and trace elements using Elvan mineral stones.
  • Vitalization of water during tapping (according to the Victor Schauberger principle)
  • If desired, the pH of the water can be raised to make it slightly alkaline.

All Aqualine water filters filter approximately 1.5 liters per hour. Because the water is filtered slowly
, the filter media can remove more contaminants from the water.

The flow rate of 1.5 liters per hour is an important factor to consider when making your choice. If you buy a water filter with a small tank capacity, you’ll have to refill it more often
compared to a larger water filter.

Another important factor to consider when making your choice is the size of the Aqualine water filter. Will the system fit in the spot you have in mind (for example, under a cabinet)? With the Aqualine 5, 12, and 18 models, the white base can be removed. This allows the tank that collects the water to be placed on a shelf or raised platform, for example.

The capacity of the collection tank (where the filtered water is collected) is based on an empty tank. This tank contains a multi-stage filter, mineral stones, and possibly a pH ring. Therefore, subtract 1.5 liters from the tank capacity to determine
how much water you can draw from the system at one time.

Choosing the material

The Aqualine 5, 12, and Neos are available with either an ABS (plastic) or glass
sump tank. The Aqualine 18 is available only with a glass tank.

ABS and polypropylene are the two plastics known to be food-safe. They do not impart any taste. They also do not release BPA, BPS, BPF, BPFAF, BPAP, or any toxic substances.

The glass tanks are handcrafted in South Korea. This results in a price difference between the ABS and glass versions.

The material used does not affect the quality of the filtered water.

Choose between pH-neutral or alkaline (Redox)

By default, the water is adjusted to a pH of 7.2–7.4 after the filtration process.

Optionally, the water can be made slightly alkaline using the pH ring (for the Aqualine 5, 12, 18) or the Redox filter (for the Neos). This raises the pH level by 1–1.5 pH units. The water does not become alkaline immediately after filtering. The contents of the pH ring and the substances from the Redox filter need time to dissolve in the water. This process takes several hours.

People who lead a healthy lifestyle and do not take acid-forming medications
generally do not need alkaline water.

Alkaline water is not recommended for children under 4 years of age.
